Beeldend kunstenaar Ronald van Rikxoort heeft zijn fascinatie voor het havenbedrijf op schitterende wijze vormgegeven in de tekeningen en schilderijen van de havenstad Rotterdam.

De liefde voor havens en zee komt niet uit de lucht vallen. De familie van Rikxoort heeft haar wortels in IJsselmonde en omgeving. Na de kunstacademie te Maastricht is hij tot op heden als reclame-ontwerper werkzaam.

In zijn vrije tijd is hij echter een bezeten en verdienstelijk schilder van schepen, havens en zeegezichten die internationaal worden gewaardeerd en bewonderd. Op de volgende pagina’s ziet u een greep uit het vele werk van Ronald van Rikxoort. Veel plezier!

The marine scenes painted by Ronald van Rikxoort clearly show his fascination for the large and lively port of Rotterdam.

His love of the harbour and the sea did not come out of the blue: his roots lie in and around IJsselmonde (i.e. the mouth of the river IJssel; nowadays a part of Rotterdam).

Ronald van Rikxoort graduated from the Maastricht Academy of Fine Arts. Subsequently he worked many years as a graphical designer.

His pictures of ships, harbours and seascapes earned him international recognition and admiration. Quite a few were produced for shipping companies around the world; and many served to illustrate well-known maritime books.
